Mon April 23rd JULES DAKIN JOINS BLANG STAFF
We forgot to tell you at the start of the year but Jules Dakin (AKA JJ Crash) has joined Joe in the Blang team so we're now a two man operation. We've been busy sorting a schedule of releases to follow the Filthy Pedro single in June. We should have news about these very soon. In the meantime Filthy Pedro will launch his single at Blang at the 12 Bar Club on Wednesday June 13th. Sergeant Buzfuz will also return to Blang that night for the first time since the summer with their new line-up.

Sun April 1st

Filthy Pedro's Rock'n'Roll Points single (Blang 3) is out as a 7" on Mon June 11th and as a download Friday June 8th. Viewers of Channel 4's Transmission music show last Autumn will be familiar with the shot of Filthy vomiting as the track was played each week.
Sergeant Buzfuz are rehearsing with their new bassist John Paul Jones.
David Cronenberg's Wife are rehearsing with their new dancer Tim Tomlinson.
Only one of the above is an April Fool's joke.

Thurs Feb 15th LAST NIGHT'S VALENTINE'S BLANG
Last night’s Valentine’s Blang was rammed to the gills, whatever that means, and a great night was had by all despite the acts dropping like Valentine’s flies. Yes, 2 performers cancelled through illness. Gary Dunne had a throat infection and Joe Buzfuz apparently has bronchitis and is laying low trying to recover in time for his tour next week. Tom Mayne MC-ed in Joe’s absence. Cormac Heron serenaded us with a set of love song covers with a distict Irish flavour thrown in. Paul Hawkins got up to his usual tricks, doing a song in the gallery, serenading an American girl on her last night in town and introducing a new arsenal of cuddly toys. And Sofizel played in front of a Valentine’s backdrop of red and black balloons, marshmallows and of course a pink lamp!
Joe is on antibiotics and an inhaler and should be fine for the tour next week!

Fri July 8th

We hope you and your loved ones are okay after yesterday's events in London. Here are some rock'n'roll words from Lach, NYC antifolk singer, which cheered us:

I am currently on a travel week in Estonia and woke up this morning to the horrendous news of the London bombing. On my last music tour through the UK in May I stayed with friends and fans instead of hotels. It made the tour so much more immediate, fun and real. I was charmed to find such similarity in how most of the people I met lived, more specifically, the decor of their homes. They were filled with posters, books, CDs and magazines all reflective of the underground, boho, rock and roll life. And everyone in these rooms was kind, giving, poetic, searching and sincere. It's as if there is this global country called "Rocknrollia" or something with no borders and no government but an international populace of artists, outcasts, rebels, dreamers. And floating above it, like a polluted crust, is this mad world of politicians, fundamentalists, businessmen, liars and thieves who are violently screwing everything up. Well, they struck again today and they will strike again tomorrow but they will all ultimately lose out to the Jedi nature of the true Rockanrollians for nothing can withstand the beat, the rhythm and the melody of non-violent liberation. And I think you know what I mean . . .

Step lightly, Stay free

Love

Lach
